12 Easy Shifts to Boost Your Business

Before I attained a new plateau in my business, I used to think that there were trade secrets used by uber-successful types that I wasn’t supposed to know about. This was a limiting belief and simply isn’t true. It’s one of the many stories we tell ourselves to unconsciously reinforce our status quo and provide us with an illusion of security. It’s just a story!

Here are 12 simple concepts to help you change your story and transition your business to the next level, whenever you’re ready!


1) FOCUS ON ONE THING AT A TIME

- Build your program offering to a consistent level before adding a new program

- Humans do best with only one thing at a time to focus on

- Multitasking is a cultural myth, nothing more

- According to neuroscience, our limited Conscious Mind can only hold 4-7 bits of information and when we divide our attention, something drops through the cracks

- Our Subconscious Mind holds everything and is unlimited

- Channel your Subconscious Mind by using Self-Hypnosis


2) KNOW YOUR DIVINE CLIENT (Qualities)

- Maybe your Divine or ideal client is:

o Over 35

o Maybe she or he is a college graduate, a realtor, a financial expert, a marketing professional, a solopreneur or a family

- Whoever your Divine or ideal client is, identify what you enjoy about them

For example:

o Perhaps you enjoy people who are aware and mindful

o Maybe you enjoy clients who have a sense of humor

o You enjoy people who are driven and high energy

- Whatever quality(s), you enjoy, don’t be afraid to invite your Divine Client into your life

The Ultimate Caveat: ABSOLUTELY NO ONE ENJOYS BEING “SOLD TO”

o People generally do not sign up for something unless it feels intuitively right and they may spend a long time sitting on the fence getting to know you before making a financial commitment

o Potential clients may percolate for 3-6 months or more

o The networking mantra of Know-Like-Trust applies here

o Therefore, make yourself: Visible, Authentic, Accessible, Approachable, Reliable and Consistent


KNOWING THIS, YOU CAN NOW:

- Focus on adding value

- Teachwhat you know

- Help as many people as you can


3) CAN YOU HELP ME GET RESULTS?

- People want to hear you talking about realistic results

- Everyone needs to have a sense of hope

- Stage your information to:

o Paraphrase what your potential client has discussed with you

o Present them with the new version of themselves after engaging with you

- Talking about results positions you to walk your talk

- Remember: You are developing credibility at every step of the engagement


4) THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS GIVING AWAY TOO MUCH INFORMATION

FOR FREE

- People don’t pay you for information because they can get the information on Google or You Tube

- People are paying you for your attention, compassion, expertise and time

- People often feel misunderstood, unimportant, unseen and unheard

- Working with you makes them feel seen and heard - knowing that someone cares about what happens to them. This cannot be overstated.


5) CONNECTION

- People want to have a connection with you

- They have lots of choices, but you have an advantage that many of the high-profile leaders in various industries do not have because those folks are often unavailable

- When you can be available to talk through the issues that come up for people (without ANY expectation that they will pay you money), they will love you for it

- Embrace your clients however it is that they show up!

- You must show up as the real you across your branding channels

- There’s nothing more disappointing to a potential client than when you use an outdated picture on your website or business card or present yourself at a networking meeting, but then show up in your office as something different

- Remember the Head and Shoulders commercial: You Don't Get a Second Chance to Make a First Impression


6) OVER-GIVING BLOCKS YOUR UNIVERSAL IN-FLOW

- The ratio is up to 10-15% of your time, money or energy for just plain giving

- If you give more than that, you are likely to get plugged up

- You will also feel drained

- The giving and receiving balance will be out of whack and cause you to become resentful

- STOP over giving

- Your services are usually worth more than you think, so be realistic about your own value


7) MAKE IT EASY FOR SOMEONE TO LEARN ABOUT YOU

- Create a short video about who you are and what you are about

- Save people from feeling baited into a sales call when all they wanted to do was just get some information

- Answer questions on the spot and if the answer requires more information, invite the person to meet you at your office or Starbucks to discover the rest of the story so you can provide them with accurate information

- My mantra is: “Let’s talk so you can get all of your questions answered”


8) “KISS” - KEEP IT SIMPLE

- Simplify your system: one product, one opt-in and one email sequence

- Once you are solid in that one product, then launch your next platform

- If you want, run a couple of retargeting ads so the ad spend is around $50-$75 a month


9) DELEGATE

- Make a list of all your favorite things to do in business and find a way to delegate everything else to your awesome Virtual Assistant

- If you’re not ready to delegate yet, set aside time to do your least favorite things either:

a. First, and then reward yourself with a favorite thing

b. Or, do your favorite thing first, following up with your least favorite thing once you have attained a good-vibe state of mind


10) MAKE INTUITIVELY BASED DECISIONS

- Intuitively based decisions are going to be the REAL deal that keep you on your path

- These decisions, which feel inspired, can be made through Visioning, meditating or interacting with your Higher Power and allowing yourself to be moved in the direction that “feels right”

o In other words, establish an internally focused experience

- Visioning allows a higher energy to channel through you (internal) and creates synchronicity that assembles the whole enchilada

- Visioning uses your Subconscious Mind, which is fluid, inclusive and expansive

- The Conscious Mind is logical and compares. It is linear, time-oriented, judgmental, limited and resistant to change

- The Conscious Mind wants you to do what’s trendy, not necessarily what’s in alignment with your path

- Vision Boards use the Conscious Mind and are intention-based (external)

- It’s always good to learn from someone who has already created the wheel, but since they don’t know what’s best for you, take away what works and leave the rest


11) AVOID STUFF YOU DON’T WANT TO DO

- It’s exhausting and will show up as a blockage or resistance in your life

- Resistance is just an internal conflict

- Internal conflict is simply a way of saying: “If I do this, then a-b-c- might happen and I want x-y-z to happen

- Address your internal conflict first, then move forward

- Find someone to do the stuff you hate or learn to appreciate it



12) ALLOW WHAT YOU WANT TO HAPPEN

- Did you know that the universe provides us with unlimited resources AND will grant every wish that you have? (in some form or another)

- Your job is to declare “WHAT” you want

- The job of the Universe is the “HOW” it shows up

- Ask for what you want and develop the art of patience regarding how and when

- This approach frees up so much energy, which is the energy you have been using to try and control how things unfold

- Express gratitude for what you already have (no matter how difficult that may seem), because gratitude expands the desired energy and allows for even more improvement to show up
